“World of Warcraft” + Xbox Kinect = magic [VIDEO]

A group of the University of Southern California has yet created the coolest Xbox Kinect hack: gesture-based spell casting and controls for world of Warcraft.

USC’s Institute for creative technologies has created and published FAAST, or flexible action and articulated skeleton Toolkit. It is a middleware toolkit that helps to integrate full body movement controls for games on Kinect of sensors. Primarily ICT makes it possible to assign different keyboard shortcuts body gestures.

A YouTubeYouTube  video demonstrate and explain the technology has generated more than 350,000 views. It demonstrates an ICT team member as its can hack your enemies, cast spells, the camera control and on the world of Warcraft landscape with only movements of the body as bent reserves or move moving the left.

FAAST is currently only available for WindowsWindows , but the Institute intends to develop a LinuxLinux  version. It also plans project open source so that other developers can create more dynamic projects with the Toolkit. The Institute hopes that help FAAST open a whole new world of healthy gaming.

While the world of Warcraft allows minimal controls hack, it is still amazing to behold. We see a world where gaming is done by dynamic motion controls, instead of the mouse and keyboard.
