Google Doodle celebrates Thomas Edison’s birthday

It’s probably safe to say that without Thomas Edison, technology and life in General – as we know it would be completely different. Edison’s inventions our world have shaped the bulb, the phonograph, the motion picture camera and its hundreds of other patents.

And today, February 11, the inventor and scientist is celebrated on Google homepage with a special what would be its 164th birthday.

The shows animated sketches of some of these inventions, including a glowing bulb and whirring type writing machine. The handful of the Edison-inspired sketches in the patents are only a small fraction of the inventor.

Earlier this week Google Jules Verne’s birthday with an interactive celebrated.
