It takes two touchscreens: Sprint Launches Kyocera echo

If has a touch screen too few welcome your Smartphone. Sprint today has the Kyocera echo, a groundbreaking two touch screen phones.

The phone has two 3, 5-inch LCD displays, through an innovative hinge associated; fold up in the way of a NetBook screens. The two displays can used to separate applications run or combined with two screens, running as a single display in tablet mode. The screens of work in the high and in landscape mode. ECHO has an on-screen keyboard like the iPhone. Other than the iPhone it can be bent, so that it looks like a mini laptop, use flat and inclined screen.

The echo of the operating system: Android 2.2, aka Froyo. Price: $200 with a two-year contract available sometime in this spring. Other features include a 5 megapixel camera with HD video recording and a charger that doubles as a battery pack.

The two screen combination can for some new features. For example, you can watch a YouTube video on the first screen a second video in the other display during the queueing. You can simultaneously run Twitter and Facebook. Check your E-mail when composing a text message. (Ordinary multitasking, your phone has arrived.)

However, Sprint said only a small number of apps would be able to play first nicely together in this way. (The company calls these dueling apps “Simultasking.”)

Developers are clear, only beginning to explore the ways to explore involved with two touch screens. Sprint demonstrated a version of the Sims game, the controls on the screen below featured and the game on the top – kind of like the PlayStation phone. The ECHO are probably most innovative apps, but we expect great things from this unusual device.

The ECHO was launched, featuring amidst much fanfare at a meeting of the New York magician David Blaine do tricks in a huge underwater tank. The connection? “Extreme multitasking can be magic,” said Sprint CEO Dan Hesse.
