Virgin Mobile Launches on Android phones preloading SCVNGR

SCVNGR’s location-based mobile game beginning will be automatically on LG Optimus V handsets that announced later this month, thanks to a new partnership with Sprint Tuesday preloaded.

The SCVNGR app will sit next to the YouTube application on the home screen (as shown) and be included in LG Optimus V device packaging. “This is the first mobile phone in what additional models are Virgin Mobile USA carrier prepaid brand,” says a SCVNGR representative.

The pre-installed application promises additional exposure for the service, secured $15 million in series C financing.

Virgin Mobile USA, a brand for Sprint Nextel offers consumers prepaid-and no contract pricing alternatives. LG Optimus V – a Virgin Mobile device much like the Optimus S – is a slim Android phone with a 3.2 inch touchscreen, price priced at $149.99 without a contract.

Last we heard SCVNGR approached 1 million members. The start is not yet officially to hit this milestone, but founder and CEO Seth Priebatsch says it has “close” Wicked to do so.
